Back at it....
It's been awhile! I just bought a house and finally got settled in. Other than that I have been riding and working a lot. I raced the last stop of the Mountain States Cup in Keystone last weekend. I represented pure dirty, smelly downhiller style sporting a full face and jeans in the Pro/Open Super-D and managed to pull 12th despite one crash. I was pretty stoked on it. It will make it a little easier going into next season knowing I can still compete even after the elbow surgery.
I rode Reno/Flag/Bear/Deadman's yesterday in Crested Butte and it was one brutal, beautiful ride. Lugging the 35 lb. Nomad up the endless climbs was a chore - further complicated by the Marzocchi 66 on the front of my bike that I am borrowing from a buddy. My Marz AM 1 SL crapped the bed in Keystone just before the Super D and I lost all damping. I gotta say the 66 is stiff and plush - but my head angle is pretty dang slack - even in 140mm mode. Sick fork on the descents though!
